Imagine if everyone with a garden dedicated a small space to wildlife, wildflowers or even planted a small tree. It would increase biodiversity nationally, create feeding spaces for birds, insects and other creatures, somewhat connecting the already fragmented wild habitats and encouraging &#8216;wildlife corridors&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why not <strong>ninja-garden<\/strong> some local spaces into a <strong>wildlife habitat<\/strong> with seeded <strong>&#8216;bee bombs&#8217;<\/strong>, pick up some litter, or research some local native species to see how you can help them&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Three simple steps to re-wilding your garden:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.<strong>Plant native species<\/strong> in your garden or pots to support local pollinators and birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2.Leave wild corners in your garden\u2014piles of <strong>logs, nettles, or long grass<\/strong> can be havens for <strong>insects<\/strong> and <strong>small animals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3.<strong>Avoid pesticides and herbicides<\/strong>, which harm beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. Help to protect natural areas by staying on marked paths when hiking or walking dogs to protect fragile habitats, avoiding disturbing nesting animals and leave wild plants and mushrooms where they are. &#8216;Take only photographs, leave only footprints&#8217;.
